In 2002 the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA) made the much anticipated move to its new location in Melbourne’s Southbank Arts Precinct; within a monolithic structure, designed by Wood Marsh Architects. The move created an opportunity to rethink ACCA’s identity.

In response, the new identity was designed to capture the essence of this iconic piece of architecture through a custom typeface and flexible graphic system, that could be deployed in many different ways and to reflect ACCA's positioning as a robust laboratory for experimentation.
